Batts is positioning the Sugar Sisters as a classic exploitation-style revenge film where women run the underground world of street justice. The Sugar Sisters run an agency lead by “fearless women who use their sex appeal and street smarts to help assist people who are having problems they may be experiencing in life—money problems, relationship problems, bill problems, beat a mother fucker up problems.

The plot revolves around Mai Tai (Flores) who struggles to investigate the kidnapping of her best friend, Shirley Temple (Kane) by Bloody Mary (Hunter), who was rejected by agency owner/operator Martini (Hartley). Mai Tai only has very limited time to find Shirley before Mary kills her. Mai Tai enlists the help of her crew, Hot Totty (Lane), Mimosa (Blue) and Cosmo (Blackovich) who have violent encounters throughout the film. We come to learn that Mai Tai’s relationship with The Sisters and Bloody Mary are deeper than expected as she deals with unexpected obstacles in search of the truth.

Batts’ original story was assisted by screenplay writer Darryl Wharton and collaborator Nathan Carlisle.

The film also features an original score of electronica, hip-hop and hardcore music.

Sugar Sisters is set for release next year.
