UNITED KINGDOM—The Church of England has announced that it is considering holding British internet service providers responsible for their failure to keep hardcore and violent pornography away from subscribers, the Daily Mail has reported. The Church has come up with a potentially very persuasive method of achieving that goal by threatening to pull tens of millions of pounds of investment from the ISPs.

At the moment, the Church is only reviewing its investment strategy, but the paper reports that a spokesperson has indicated its determination going forward not “to invest in firms which fuel the very problems Christians are trying to tackle and has already leaned heavily on supermarkets to be more responsible in the way they sell alcohol.

“A Church spokesman said members of its ethical investment advisory group are considering new guidelines on pornography which take into account how easy it is to access with modern media,” the article continues. “Campaigners claim the seemingly unstoppable flood of hard-core and violent pornography is corroding the very fabric of society.”

Though unstated, it appears as if two recent developments may have spurred the Church to action. One was the push-back by the ISPs to plans espoused by Prime Minister David Cameron to place opt-in porn filters on ISPs. After the plan was publicly announced, several ISPs corrected initial news reports to clarify that the plan was only to provide more pro-active options for parents to use parental controls already available to them.

The other development was the revelation that Vincent Tabak, the convicted murderer of a young British landscape architect, Joanne Yeates, 25, had been trolling porn sites hours before he strangled the victim. Tabak was convicted of the crime anyway, but the prosecution decided not to inform jurors of his porn trolling, or the fact that he “viewed images of women being held by the neck saying ‘choke me’ and two naked women bound and gagged in the boot of a car,” likely because there was no way to prove a relationship between the viewing of the material and Tabak's subsequent actions.

It is not as though the U.K. has not already gone to extreme measures to keep its citizens from visiting sites that contain porn it finds too extreme. In 2009, a law was passed that amended Sections 63-67 of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act, to criminalize the possession of photographic images that depict acts that threaten someone’s life. Imposing jail terms of up to five years in prison, the bill targeted “grossly offensive or disgusting” porn that was “explicit and realistic.” Images showing bestiality and necrophilia were also included. However, law enforcement seemed unwilling or unable to enforce the law, and the Daily Mail reported that the low bar of thirty prosecutions a year was not even attained.

In England, which has no First Amendment, it appears to be a quick jump from identifying a possible problem to solving it through censorship. The Daily Mail editorial board calls for decisive action in a Monday editorial posted to the site titled, “In Joanna’s name, close these vile sites.”

“If watching films showing sexual violence can influence the behavior of the individuals who look at them, as many experts believe, is it not obvious we should be doing more to curb the availability of this kind of material?” asks the Daily Mail editorial board, noting later, “Opponents of censorship argue that we should not interfere with the free viewing choices of grown-ups. But this freedom comes at too high a price if it means that potentially violent individuals such as Vincent Tabak become violent in reality.”

The editorial exhorts police to be “more vigorous” in bringing prosecutions under existing laws such as the one mentioned above, and suggests that threats by the Church of England to end investment in the ISPs will force the service providers to “try harder” in their efforts to monitor and control online porn.

“Above all, the Government must take this challenge far more seriously,” the editorial concludes. “Previous initiatives have promised more than they delivered. In the name of poor Joanna Yeates, we need to stop this poison before it claims more victims.”

The vibrating bullet had a dramatic launch and rocky descent back into earth’s atmosphere. The ascent took over one hour and halfway through the ascent the bullet withstood the coldest temperatures of its journey at -75 degrees F.

The turbulent descent took approximately 30 minutes. The partially solar-powered, partially helium-filled balloon equipped with an HD video and still camera was tangled up in balloon debris and popped at around 19:24 into the descent. It hit the ground at upwards of 60 miles per hour rather than the gentle 5-10 mph expected. However, the payload was engineered to be impact-resistant, so nothing was damaged. The balloon and sex toy landed safely in an open field away from houses and people, and were retrieved by the SexToy.com team.  Miraculously, the vibrator was still vibrating.

JESUSLAND—In about one week from today, Mississippi voters will "decide" whether something that's smaller than the period at the end of this sentence is a "person" for legal purposes—and to say that their collective opinion will create vast legal problems across the country is hardly an understatement.

At issue is Amendment 26 to the state Constitution, which would define a "person" to "include every human being from the moment of fertilization, cloning or the functional equivalent thereof." The measure is expected to pass with a large majority, leaving Mississippi's women as second-class citizens, potential slaves to the zygote growing inside of them.

Think about it: Everyone knows that drinking alcohol may retard development of a fetus, so does that mean that every pregnant—or potentially pregnant—woman who takes a drink is guilty of child abuse? What about cocaine or opiates, which can addict fetuses in the womb? Obviously, the amendment would put all abortions off the table as "murder," but under the new scheme, even women who miscarry will automatically come under suspicion of the same... with all the investigations, police reports, trials and imprisonment that "murder" entails.

But it's not only abortions; several different birth control methods, including IUDs and certain types of birth control pills, rather than preventing fertilization, merely prevent the fertilized egg from attaching to the wall of the uterus. All of those would be ruled illegal under Amendment 26. And using embryonic stem cells for scientific experimentation or medical treatments would of course be (with apologies to John Cleese) RIGHT OUT!

But besides turning women's sexuality into a legal minefield, the Amendment would also create a number of legal and practical problems which its proponents have clearly never thought about. For instance, Jessica Berg, a professor of law and bioethics, recently pointed out on National Public Radio that doctors who practice in vitro fertilization would be legally barred from disposing of any embryos they created, even if the woman from whom the eggs came managed to become pregnant early on in her treatment.

"You could never get rid of them," she said of the fertilized eggs. "It's not clear whether you could freeze them, because we certainly don't have a concept of freezing indefinitely a person. It's not clear how you then adopt them—would you have to go through all the normal adoption proceedings?"

Fertility specialist Dr. Randall S. Hines takes the concept a bit further, stating, "Once you recognize that the majority of fertilized eggs don't become people, then you recognize how absurd this amendment is."

Then, from the sublime, we segue into the absurd: Will pregnant women get unfettered access to HOV lanes on highways? Would displaying the ultrasound of a fetus be considered child pornography? (No clothes!) During census periods, would a pregnant woman count as two persons for purposes of redrawing voting districts? Could a fertilized egg inherit money or property?

As a New York Times editorial pointed out, "Because a multitude of laws use the terms 'person' or 'people,' there would be no shortage of unintended consequences."

On the bright side, however, it would appear that Mississippi residents who attain the age of 20 years and three months would be able to drink alcohol nine months sooner than their peers in other states, and if Mississippi had a porn industry, its 17 year, three month old youngsters should legally be able to make sexually explicit content. Also lop nine months off whatever age Mississippi has set for teens to be able to drive.

Of course, to the amendment's proponents, nothing is more important that "saving" that collection of cells.

"Personhood is bigger than just shutting abortion clinics," said Brad Prewitt, a lawyer and executive director of the Yes on 26 campaign, which is named for the Mississippi proposition. "It's an opportunity for people to say that we're made in the image of God."

And sadly, being an atheist won't provide an exemption from this asshole idea.

CHINA—Chinese authorities said Monday that 50 microblogging accounts have been shuttered by the government because of violations related to the distribution of porn and other "vulgar" content, reported xinhuanet.com.

"According to an unnamed official from the State Internet Information Office," the site reported, "the microblogs were shut down for violations that include carrying pornographic images and videos, information for prostitution, as well as illegal advertising for sex-related drugs and productions."

The authorities further claimed that citizens had reported the accounts, which were investigated and then closed.

With a reported 500 million people online, the Chinese government, which is well-known for its attempts to limit criticism of official policies, has publicly touted its years-long campaign to close websites that offend its sense of decency, but some insist that the campaign serves another more vital interest—stifling public criticism of the government.

"China's microbloggers showed their potency in a string of recent official scandals, particularly an online uproar in the wake of a high-speed bullet train crash in July that killed 40 people," reported Reuters. "Microbloggers led the charge in challenging rail officials' evasive accounts of the disaster."

China also denies Twitter, YouTube and Facebook the ability to operate in the country, but it permits other internally run microblogging sites, called weibo, to operate, some of which dwarf the size of Twitter in terms of membership. As AVN reported earlier this month, Western celebrities as well as a Japanese porn star popular with the Chinese have weibo accounts that attract millions of followers.

Whatever the government's ultimate intent may be, the state regulatory official indicated today that the government has every intention of keeping up the pressure.

"Authorities will continue to take measures to cut down on new channels used for spreading pornography and vulgar material," xinhuanet.com quoted him as saying.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—The Federal Aviation Administration said Thursday that federal regulations were not violated in the skydiving sex stunt that took place earlier this month over Kern County, California, when porn star and ex-skydiving instructor Alex Torres—aka Voodoo—took pal and ex-skydiving school receptionist Hope Howell for some mile high sex while plummeting to earth.

FAA spokesperson Ian Gregor said at the time that apparent sexual activity that took place in the plane before the couple jumped may have violated FAA rules by being too much of a distraction to the pilot, who worked for the skydiving school, Skydive Taft, but the federal agency concluded otherwise after conducting an investigation into the incident.

"The FAA inspector who looked into this incident determined it did not result in violations of any Federal Aviation Regulations," said FAA spokesman Ian Gregor. "The pilot stated that the act did not distract him or interfere with any of his duties, and available video evidence confirms this account."

CYBERSPACE—The fun-loving folks at Lovehoney, purveyors of their own creative toy lines and many other pleasure products, are spreading a little Halloween cheer this season.

AUSTRALIA—Really, how low can the Australian Customs Service get? According to news from the Eros Association, it has set a new benchmark for the importation of adult films into Australia by confiscating two recent titles from the United States that feature vertically challenged people.

Midget Mania, Volumes 7 and 8 were confiscated by Customs agents in Brisbane last month, and after 28 days has yet to return the videos despite protestations from the importers. Customs are not required to give any explanation for their seizure of goods, but it is widely understood that they are now treating the dwarf genre in the same way they do depictions of female ejaculation, which represents an ‘offensive fetish’ and is therefore RC (Refused Classification).

Eros Association CEO Fiona Patten said the new ruling was discriminatory to short-statured people and quite possibly offended the Federal Discrimination Act.

“One of the main hallmarks of adult films has been the fact that everyone and anyone can get a go,” she said. “Black or white, fat or thin, short or tall, unlike Hollywood, everyone is celebrated for their own unique talents and styles. It appears that Customs are trying to insinuate that when a large male adult actor has sex with a female dwarf or midget, that there is an element of coercion involved because of the size difference. If they have other reasons, they should let industry know instead of shrouding these decisions in secrecy."

Patten added that in the same way Customs has misunderstood female ejaculation to be a form of urolagnia—a paraphilia in which sexual excitement is associated with the sight or thought of urine or urination—Customs officers are desperately in need of biology lessons and a reality check on the dwarf issue.

“Large numbers of dwarfs and midgets are happily married to persons of normal height around the world,” she said. “They even have children together."

Customs, she argued, has apparently become the arbiter and enforcer of the Classification Act and is now stopping all imported adult films from overseas that they believe could possibly be Refused Classification if submitted. However, in taking on that role, Customs is not only acting in an arbitrary manner, but is also denying Australian distributors the chance to edit a film to meet Australian standards. Likewise, when applied to magazines, distributors are denied the right to post-print modify in order to get a classification.

“This is often the same material that is quite legal to possess in Australia and legal to be delivered by Telstra onto your computer,” said Patten.

Customs is also routinely ‘red-lining’ all shipments of adult material and spending many hours watching porn on the docks and looking at adult magazines under magnifying glasses, claimed Patten, who added that the time spent represents a complete waste of taxpayer money. Furthermore, she claimed, Customs officers are there to stop drugs, weapons and exotic organisms at our borders and not to try and set the moral tone of the nation.

“We call on the Minister to put in place a moratorium on seizures of adult material (unless child pornography is suspected) while the Australian Law Reform Commission review of the Classification Act is being completed,” she said. “The convergence of media has meant that Customs are now prosecuting people for importing material via a boat or a plane that is perfectly legal to import on a telephone line.”

CYBERSPACE—Just about everyone has seen a Funny or Die video by now, but this Halloween, they've turned the hosting of the site over to legendary horror/sci fi director John Carpenter, who's brought together nearly a dozen videos that lampoon several aspects of the "holiday"—including a send-up of Bobby "Boris" Pickett's 1962 hit song "The Monster Mash" featuring adult entertainer Dana DeArmond.

So of course we had to call her up and ask her about it.

"And how is the Bride of Frankenstein?" we began.

"Oh, undead," she giggled, with the quick-wittedness that's made her a regular participant in Funny or Die's sexier fare.

According to the video's set-up, the original version of "The Monster Mash" was written by one Leo Carpazzi, but the record label rewrote his lyrics, claiming the monster imagery was too graphic ... but after seeing the video, we had our doubts, so we asked Dana to give us the lowdown.

"I was asked to do it by the director Justin Donaldson, who I've met through doing other Funny or Die bits," Dana explained. "He called me last week and asked if I would do it, and I was like, 'Of course!" There's tons of very funny comedy people that are involved, like comedians and writers and people who work at Funny or Die that all kind of chipped to make this video."

"So they had this song for a while, and they didn't really have anything to do with it until this Halloween, they came up with the concept of doing a music video for it," she continued. "And I was kind of like—the Bride of Frankenstein is like the biggest slut of them all, and they called me because I've done other bits for Funny or Die. I've judged the 'Dirtiest Sketch Contest' that those people used to have monthly, that they had to shut down because there were being so dirty, they had to change the rules so many times they couldn't have the show anymore. So I've kind of been their go-to girl for these comedy bits. Like I did a Funny or Die thing where I was topless; I did a bit with Jim Vanderbeek—I've met a bunch of people over the years, so usually when they need someone to look slutty or be topless or nude or whatever, they give me a call."

Sadly, Dana wasn't asked to be topless or nude in the music video parody, but she certainly steals the show as soon as she makes her appearance.

"So they were having me pose sitting on the bed being like the Bride of Frankenstein," she said, "and I suggested, 'You know, I could Tawny Kitaen the shit out of this casket right here,' and that's where we got the idea for me to crawl around on it. It's not a super-long bit, it's only a three-minute song, but I think I got my point across."

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller has a problem: What to do about all the forced prostitution that he's sure will be happening when Indianapolis hosts the Super Bowl this winter on February 6.

Of course, Zoeller's actual problem is that he (and his cadre of advisors and consultants) haven't yet figured out that most of the women involved in prostitution have affirmatively chosen their profession—and that all those statistics he's been reading about the number of trafficked women and children in the U.S.—he's claiming that "[a]s many as 300,000 girls between the ages of 11 and 17 are lured into the United States' sex industry annually"—are staggeringly inflated.

But no.

"He [Zoeller] said the recent track record of America's most-watched sporting event suggests that along with it comes an uptick in women, especially those under age 18, who are brought into the United States illegally and forced into prostitution," wrote Eric Bradner of the Evansville Courier & Press.

See, even though the Indianapolis 500, Indiana's biggest sporting event, draws hundreds of thousands more fans to the city than a Super Bowl, Zoeller's sure there'll be more hooking because, "It's the international focus. It's a different kind of sporting event."

Apparently he's confused about the fact that when pretty much everyone else in the world says "football," they're talking about what we call "soccer." Apples and oranges, don't'cha know?

But no; Zoeller's paranoia will be prostitutes' problem, if he has anything to say about it.

After a September 30 "training session" called by Zoeller for "law enforcement, prosecutors and victim advocates," he's urging the state legislature to pass a new law that would criminalize "the organized exploitation of children by people who profit from the sale of sex with minors"—or as we know them, "pimps," whose activities we suspect are already illegal.

"Our goal is to increase awareness that prostitution isn't a victimless crime," Zoeller claimed. "Many of these young women who enter the sex trade are often physically forced, coerced, raped or imprisoned by their traffickers."

Trouble is, apparently all that force, coercion, rape and imprisonment is really, really well hidden.

"If they [police] know what to look for, what questions to ask, we're hoping we can identify more victims and serve them," said Abby Kuzma, director of the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Office.

And if they can't find "victims" to "serve," they'll do their best to create them. Just three days after the confab, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police (with a Fox 59 News crew in tow) raided three massage parlors in Marion County, seizing massage tables, computers and arrested two women, neither of whom were minors, and neither of whom appeared to have been "trafficked."

Not too surprisingly, officials in Dallas, Texas, the site of the most recent Super Bowl, made similar predictions about the impending rampant sex-trafficked child prostitution, yet interestingly, no one appears to have done any follow-up after the 2011 Super Bowl to see how many trafficked child prostitutes were discovered servicing Super Bowl attendees.

Perhaps in Indiana, the news media will be a bit more thorough.

MIAMI—A male adult performer who works under the name Jah-T, an alleged accomplice and six corporate entities were sued this week by a woman identified only as Jane Doe No. 11, who is accusing the men of using a social network site to lure her to a fake audition in 2006, where she was given alcohol that secretly contained Xanax and then raped while unconscious. The rape was allegedly videotaped and then distributed for profit. In addition to suing the men and the companies they ran, Jane Doe also is suing the social network site, BlackPlanet.com, for negligence. She is seeking $10 million.

On Aug. 16, a Miami grand jury criminally indicted the same two men accused by Jane Dow No. 11—Lavont Flanders Jr. and Emerson Callum, aka Jah-T—on 22 counts of using the same methods described above to lure, under false pretenses, nine women, including Jane Doe No. 11, to locations where they were secretly given Xanax and then raped while being filmed. If the men are found guilty of all charges, they could be sentenced to life in prison.

The corporate entities sued by Jane Doe include BlackPlanet.com, a social network site for African-Americans that claims over 15 million members; Radio One, a broadcasting company that is the parent of BlackPlanet; Interactive One, Radio One’s digital platform property, which operates BlackPlanet; Community Connect Inc, another Radio One subsidiary that also had operational control over BlackPlanet; Miami Vibes Enterprises, an adult production company owned by defendant Callum; DCash Technologies, the parent company of adult website DCashStudios.com; DSynternet Media, another owner of DCashStudios.net; and Dsynternet Online, another owner/operator of the same website.

Defendant Callum is alleged to be a Miami resident and the president or managing agent of Miami Vibes. Defendant Flanders is not alleged to be an owner of any of the defendant companies. According to the Miami Herald, Callum, a Jamaican who resides in Miami, and Flanders, a former Miami Beach police officer, have worked together since 2006. The federal indictment covers crimes allegedly committed by the pair that took place as early as May 2006 and continued through July 2007.

The indictment also states that Flanders would troll ModelMayhem.com as well as BlackPlanet.com, using false identities to contact and then lure women to auditions for mainstream modeling gigs for name-brand liquor companies, and that the women were entreated to drink real alcohol as part of the audition. After the women ingested the alcohol, which according to both the lawsuit and indictment secretly contained Xanax, Flanders would have them sign model releases, and then, “while filming the women, would ask them whether they were under the influence of any drugs or alcohol, knowing, however, that they had already consumed the alcoholic beverages he had given them, which contained Xanax.”

Callum, having witnessed all of this, would then allegedly have sex with the women; Flanders would videotape the sex; and then Callum, through Miami Vibes, would sell videos produced using the videotaped content. According to the indictment, “Flanders and Callum did not pay any of the women any money for the videotaping or distribution of these video-recordings.”

According to Jane Doe, following two such “auditions,” she was dropped off either at her hotel or a relative’s residence, unaware that any sex or filming had taken place. It was only after her agent asked her in October 2007 why she had not informed him that she had done pornography that she learned of the existence of the video.

“Jane Doe’s agent purchased the pornographic video and brought it to Jane Doe’s house to view,” the complaint states. “Jane Doe watched the video of her with Edward Callum, realizing for the first time that she had been raped by Callum during one of the auditions.”

The Miami Herald reported that Radio One has “’vehemently’ denied all of the allegations in the lawsuit,” and that the company’s lawyer wrote in an email, "We are confident that we will be absolved in a court of competent jurisdiction. The owner and operator of BlackPlanet.com strongly encourage Internet users to observe prudent and safe practices."

SAN FRANCISCO—After Clear Channel Outdoor and CBS Outdoor rejected billboard ads submitting to them by the St. James Infirmary, which has provided full-service health care to sex workers and their families since 1999, the Mission Street clinic found a transit advertising company that would put them on 50 Mini-buses in the city.

Now, more people may end up seeing the safe-for-work ad (pictured) that feature photos of sex workers, family members and healthcare professionals and ideas the leading billboard companies find threatening. The copy on the ad states:

“Some of us are sex workers.”

“Some of us provide health care to sex workers.”

“Some of us are family members of sex workers.”

“Someone you know is a sex worker.”

One of the points of the ad, of course, is to make it clear that you often can’t spot a sex worker on sight. They don’t have tattoos on their faces screaming “sex worker,” at least not the ones pictured.

The ad,” said St. James executive director Naomi Akers, “is about humanizing us.” A former sex worker and one of 27 people photographed for the campaign, she added, “We’re not just the stereotype of sexual deviant. We’re everyday people.”

According to The Bay Citizen, “a representative of Clear Channel Outdoor defended its choice not to run the ads, saying that local managers review all content to make sure it meets ‘standards of the local community.’”

More pointedly, Barbara Haux, a CBS Outdoor senior account executive wrote in an e-mail to the clinic that the ad was rejected because “sex workers” is “not a family friendly term.” The ad would be reconsidered if the phrase “sex worker” were not used, however.

To its credit—though it could hardly have made any other decision—St. James refused to delete the term and instead contracted with Titan 360 to use the ads on the Minis, but the refusal by CBS and Clear Channel to run the ad only underscores the purpose of the ad, which is to bring attention to institutional bias against sex workers. The rejection is a perfect example of that bias, especially since CBS' and Clear Channel's reasoning is so weak.

It is in fact almost impossible to understand the irrational explanation by CBS Outdoor. What could be more family unfriendly than not wanting to help the families of sex workers or the sex workers themselves by making sure that they have access to good health care?

If the presumption by CBS Outdoor, or Clear Channel Outdoor for that matter, is that only illegal prostitution qualifies as sex work, they are sorely ill-informed. Adult entertainment professionals are also sex workers, of course, and are often dependent upon clinics such as St. James for the testing and health care for keeping them safe in their professional and private lives (as if each is completely independent from the other.)

But it’s not just porn and prostitution that encompasses sex work, but also work done in gentlemen’s clubs, for phone sex and webcam services as well as for escort services, which may or may not involve actual sexual interaction. In some counties, scantily clad coffee baristas are now also being defined as sex workers.

Because the list just keeps getting bigger and bigger, the argument that running such an ad might be construed as condoning illegal behavior becomes less viable, which might be one reason CBS Outdoor expanded its objection to include the “not family friendly” rationale.

They do not mean all families, of course, or even any specific families, but just families in general, though apparently not any of the families connected to the people pictured in the ad. Their families do not count.

That exclusion might even extend to the family of Rachel Schreiber, an artist and associate professor at the California College of the Arts, who was the creative director for the ad campaign. She told The Bay Citizen that sex workers “are deserving of rights and of health care and of housing and anything that any of us believes that anybody in our society deserves.”

If it were possible to boycott a billboard, this would be a great reason to do so. Both of these companies need to be slapped upside their corporate heads for taking such an inhospitable (and hostile) stance toward this increasingly broad class of people. That CBS Outdoor would use such a pitiful excuse deserves something extra-special.

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Friday night, AVN just happened to be covering the latest shoot by director Harry Sparks for AMKingdom, Revenge of the Petites, when we bumped into veteran actor James Deen, who plays one of the school teachers in the movie—and Deen just happened to mention that he had an interesting story to tell us.

"Earlier this morning, I was at my house, and my doorbell rings," Deen began. "So I go to answer the door, and there's these two dudes, dressed up, one in a button-down shirt, long shirt, and the other one was in slacks and a polo, which went down a little below their waist."

"Anyway, I shoot porn," he continued, "and I don't always shoot with a permit, so I'm used to, when there's people on the outside of the gate, you just wait until they show a warrant or they leave.

"So they like show their badges and they're like, 'Secret Service. We're here to talk to you about bla-bla-bla.' And I'm like, "Wait a minute, wait, wait,' because I'm thinking it's a joke: 'Secret Service, yeah; fuck off,' you know. And they show me their badges, and it's like DHS—'Department of Homeland Security—Secret Service.' And I'm like, 'All right; let me see some cards.' And so—because all cops have cards. So they give me their cards, and I'm looking at them, and okay; they've got cards. So I'm, 'Let me see your badges again,' and they show me their badges, and I'm like—I've never seen a fucking Secret Service badge; I don't know what it fucking looks like, but I'm staring at it and it looks legit, you know.

"So these two dudes are standing there with their fucking Secret Service badges and I have their cards and stuff, so I'm like, 'All right; cool! What's up, guys?' So they open up a dossier—they've got like a fucking dossier and they open it up and they show me the picture and they go, 'Do you know this guy?' And I go, 'Yeah; that's the dude that I bought the house from.' And they're like, 'Oh, yeah? We've got some counterfeiting charges against him,' and apparently, the dude I bought the house from has some counterfeiting charges and all sorts of weird—and he's wanted by Homeland Security!

"And so they tracked him down, and they were looking for like an address or paperwork or anything that could help them with their investigation. So I'm standing there and talking to them, and finally I realize, 'Holy shit; they're no threat to me, and I should be polite to Homeland fucking Security,' so I opened the gate, and I'm like, 'Here; c'mon inside; c'mon inside,' and you know, I invite them in.

"They come in, and as they're coming in, like one of them like reaches his arm up, and I see that under their shirts they have guns and badges and all sorts of shit there; they just were concealing it because they wanted to look normal. So I'm like, 'All right; these dudes are real-deal shit, you know, and they're Homeland Security that I'm welcoming into my house.'

"So I have Homeland Security in my house, and we're sitting there and talking and stuff, and we get into the house and there's some porn and some stuff like that around my house; you know, I shoot porn and there's porn and porn-related things around, and one of them goes, 'Hey, are you that guy, that porn guy?' And I'm like, 'Yeah,' and he goes 'I thought so! Okay!' And we continued our little talk and stuff, they just were interested in the guy that I bought the house from, who apparently—I bought it on a short sale; apparently he was going bankrupt; he had these counterfeiting charges—whatever happened, shit happened and so yeah, Homeland Security was at my house this morning. I spent a couple of hours with them, talked to them a while and one of them recognized me."

And did he give them any parting gifts; a DVD or two?

"No, no, no!" Deen exclaimed. "I like was tempted to like bro down with them and be buddy-buddy, but I also don't want to ever be on their radar. I don't want them to ever think about me. I don't want anything to do with Homeland Security anywhere, ever. They're Secret Service! Who the fuck talks to Secret Service? And then, later, I fucked Sarah Shevon, so that was cool!"

LOS ANGELES—On Oct. 8, esteemed comic Sam Tripoli teamed with what he calls “The Cadillac” of adult toy manufacturers, Fun Factory, for a legendary Naughty Show, nearly selling out the Viper Room inHollywood,Calif.

The partnership of the Naughty Comedy Show, headlined by Jackass’s Steve O, and Fun Factory was a smash success with its blend of mainstream entertainment and the adult industry. Fun Factory toys were on display throughout the room to be played with by patrons, with more toys given out as prizes during the night’s contests. The show had a fun, risqué, rock ’n’ roll vibe, yet still kept it classy and sexy enough that gentlemen who brought their ladies had no worries about her being offended and making him sleep on the couch.

The Naughty Show, hosted by Comedy Central’s Sam Tripoli, featured something for everyone, from top headlining comics Steve O, Iliza Shlesinger, Tom Segura, and Showtime’s Jayson Thibault, to sexy adult film stars Bobbi Starr and Kayla Paige. In between the comics, patrons were treated to a stunning burlesque performance by Elaine “Lanie” Hoxie, and a championship pole dancing experience by Annemarie Davies.

As an introduction, Fun Factory CEO Joe Curtis took the stage for his debut to warm up the crowd, getting a surprisingly large amount of laughs for a first timer, with jokes dealing with everything from masturbation to Michael J. Fox. It worked in both a comedy capacity, as well as a marketing tool, as he managed to blend the Fun Factory brand into his act, keeping it respectable while still being “naughty” enough to garner laughs from the crowd.

“We are delighted to partner with the comedy scene as a means of marketing our brand to mainstream audiences, and extend our exposure,” Curtis said.

Adult toy companies frequently struggle garnering mainstream attention, largely due to the general population’s apprehension of the subject matter. Fun Factory’s comedy show was a novel opportunity to get mainstream acceptance as well as celebrity association.
